A new generation of Aston Martin Vanquish supercar is racing but before its arrival the British automaker will present a more powerful version of the current second-generation model that has been on sale since the 2014 model year. A prototype for this new version, called 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S, was seen just outside the Aston Martin test center on the Nurburgring.
The new 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S reinforces its superior gun condition with a more aggressive and aerodynamic exterior that begins with a new carbon fiber divider that works in concert with a new carbon fiber rear diffuser to reduce the lift before the speed with minimum resistance. The 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S also features carbon fiber side edges and new exhaust ports for two exhaust pairs. Those looking for greater customization can add a selection of optional keys that include carbon fiber grid covers instead of titanium base units, forged 5-spoke light alloy wheels 20-inch wrapped in Pirelli P Zero performance and a selection of several external graphics packages.
While the basic design of the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S cabin goes forward, buyers have the option of several upgrades, including special leather / Alcantara combos, micro perforated leather seat inserts and a cushioned leather padding design along with a selection of unique bits that include a new carbon fiber satin cut panel. The extensive list of equipment varies from a power pack to a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 1000 watt audio package and the AMi III entertainment and information system with navigation, satellite radio, Bluetooth and iPhone integration with Apple CarPlay.
It is not clear what mechanical upgrades are planned, but the new exhaust probes may suggest more power, probably 592 horsepower to match the release of the limited edition Vanquish Zagato. The 5.9-liter V-12 in the regular Vanquish delivers 568 horsepower and is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination is good for an acceleration of 0-60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 200 mph. Expect the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S to improve these numbers. Keep in mind that it is likely that this is the latest Aston Martin Venerable 5.9-liter V-12 application, which actually comes from Ford Motor Company [NYSE: F]. In future, the Aston Martin V-12 models will use the new 5.2-liter Dual-Turbine Diesel engine debuted in 2017 DB11.
The 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S coupe starts at $ 297,775 while the Vanquish S Steering Wheel opens at $ 315,775. Both are now on sale with the first American versions to start in April.
